A miscellany of unorganized correspondence files, reports, registers and other categories of records retrieved from the office of the former CN Archivist. In addition, there are published works and CN photographic albums.
Some of the subjects and themes covered in the accession include but are not limited to the following: Orders of the Railway Committee of the Privy Council, CN station names, autobiographies by former CN employees, CN magazines, report on the Frontier College, land settlement reports for Saskatchewan, correspondence from the CN archivist, daily surveillance reports, operational manuals, and land ledgers documenting the sale of land to the Canada Southern Railway Company in Ontario. Land ledgers are Boxes 6-8.
Accession consists of photo subjects as follows: album of Georgetown, Electric Plan; album of Battle Creek Shops, Motive Power Department, Western Division, 1909; album of trip through Canadian Rockies by Wilfred Creighton family, 1910s; album of Canadian Northern Railway System, Parliamentary and Press Party, Quebec to Vancouver and return, October 12th to 26th, 1915; CNR Apprentices group photographs, Stratford, Ont., 1933, 1934-1935, Moncton, N.B., 1940 and Port Mann Shops, 1941; Brandon Ticket Office, Man., 1904; views of Edmonton, Alta; album on Victoria Jubilee Bridge, 1897-1900, photos by J.C.S. Bennett, Montreal, Que.; album on Grand Trunk Railway System and Grand Trunk Pacific Railway, 1930s, photos by E.R. Dalymphle; album on The Canadian Northern Railway System, 1920s

Textual records: Material was rearranged in the boxes. A preliminary investigation showed that the material was loosely placed in the boxes. A reorganization of the material has placed the suspected textual and photographic archival material in boxes 2, 5-11. Box 3 is empty.
