This accession consists of one ledger entitled "Commissioners of the Transcontinental Railway. Bridge Book" for contracts of excavations and foundations for various buildings including stations, coaling plants, freight sheds, section houses, etc, for Districts B,C,D & E, National Transcontinental Railway.
The ledger consists of an estimated 800 sheets of data and scale drawings of the excavation and foundation work done. There is an untitled Sheet A, Sheet B "Sketch,Plan and Profile", Sheet C "Pile Driving Record" and Sheet D "Detail of Piles and Bill of Material".
The sheets are arranged by Sub District N to Z and the ledger is indexed alphabetically by location of project.
The plans are checked (final) copies which have been signed off by respective division, resident and district engineers.
