User Card Registration

​​​​Please note: Users who wish to undertake on-site research or consult the holdings in Library and Archives Canada (LAC) facilities must obtain a user card. This card is valid for 2 years.

To obtain your user card you will have to:

• read and accept the User Agreement Terms and Conditions established by LAC
• fill out the electronic form
• present yourself to a staff member at the Registration Desk
• show a government-issued photo identification
• sign your user card

This electronic form also allows you to renew your user card and to update your personal information. If you require assistance, please consult a staff member at the Registration Desk.
