Legal Deposit: New and improved system for the deposit of digital publications

Library and Archives Canada (LAC) is launching today a new and improved deposit system to make depositing digital publications easier for Canadian publishers and self-publishers.

The system features new and easy-to-use web forms to deposit monographs (books) published in digital format, as well as a bulk submission option to deposit multiple publications in a single submission. The system will allow LAC to more efficiently receive, preserve, and make available your digital publications.

LAC plans to incorporate the deposit of other types of publications and productions in the future.

About legal deposit

Through the legal deposit program, Library and Archives Canada (LAC) collects publications and productions created in Canada, and intended for sale or distribution. Canadian publishers and producers are invited to deposit their works with LAC to ensure they are preserved and made accessible to Canadians today and in the future.
