Library and Archives Canada strengthens its ties with Université du Québec à Montréal

Library and Archives Canada (LAC) is pleased to announce the signing of a brand-new collaborative agreement with Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM).

This agreement will strengthen the collaboration between the two institutions, as they have previously worked together on events such as the LAC Forum with university partners and the "Access to Collections and Privacy: An Ongoing Challenge for Memory Institutions" colloquium organized as part of the 2019 Acfas Conference.

"I am delighted to continue to build the strong and sustained relationship we have with an important partner such as UQAM, as it is essential that we work together to better address our common challenges and to continue to thrive in this digital age."

Leslie Weir, Librarian and Archivist of Canada

"I am delighted about this collaborative agreement with Library and Archives Canada, which will contribute to the development of innovative digital projects for the benefit of research, teaching and the student experience at the Université du Québec à Montréal."

Magda Fusaro, Rector, Université du Québec à Montréal

In addition to this new collaboration, LAC now has several bilateral agreements in place with a wide range of Canadian universities from across the country, such as the University of Ottawa, Memorial University of Newfoundland, the University of Victoria, Dalhousie University, Queen's University, the University of Toronto, Université Laval, Université de Sherbrooke, and the École de bibliothéconomie et des sciences de l'information at Université de Montréal.

These collaborations are in keeping with LAC's priorities to facilitate the sharing of expertise and knowledge while continuing to be at the leading edge of archival science, library science, and related new technologies.
