On February 19, 2020, we invite you to celebrate the excellence and diversity of Canadian literature for young people by participating in the inaugural I Read Canadian Day. On this day, the whole country is encouraged to “read Canadian” for at least 15 minutes and then share their experiences at their local library, at school, with family and friends, and on social media.
Library and Archives Canada (LAC) is proud to stand with its partners in supporting literacy and encouraging reading. I Read Canadian Day is a great example of collaborative efforts that promote Canadian literature for younger readers.
LAC has the world’s largest collection of children’s literature written, illustrated and published by Canadians. You can therefore find a wealth of Canadian book recommendations for younger readers in our Aurora catalogue.
