As you may have already noticed, our Collection Search results panel has changed, and the LAC collection’s digital material that you research now appears in a new and improved viewer.
You can now see the digital material at first glance! You can view items in full-screen mode, and download many of them for off-line research.
The improved viewer also lets you take part in making Canada's history more accessible! Sign in to your Co-Lab account (or create one if you haven’t already) and begin transcribing, tagging, describing or translating content directly in the viewer. This crowdsourced content is now automatically included in search results to create a more seamless experience between LAC’s online tools. You can exclude crowdsourced content from your results using Advanced Search if you wish. Since we are currently working on improving our tools, you may experience occasional glitches. Please help us by reporting them using the feedback email address: email@example.com.
Also, Collection Search now includes more records than Archives Search. You may find the list of newly integrated content on the page About Collection Search.
