Eligible small Canadian public and academic libraries have until December 6, 2017, to apply for funding from Library and Archives Canada (LAC) for interlibrary loan and copy cataloguing services from the Online Computer Library Center (OCLC). This past spring, LAC entered into an agreement to renew its library system with OCLC, a global library co-operative.
LAC anticipates that its funding initiative will help many smaller libraries fully participate in this national project to support the work of the Canadian library community, collectively enrich the Canadian holdings catalogue, and provide worldwide access to Canadian libraries’ collections, thus making Canada’s documentary heritage even more widely available.
To learn more about the OCLC services covered and the eligibility criteria, or to complete the online application form, Canadian libraries can visit LAC’s financial assistance for small libraries web page.
