The registration deadline for the 2017–2018 funding cycle for Library and Archives Canada’s (LAC) Documentary Heritage Communities Program (DHCP) is fast approaching. Eligible organizations have until January 27, 2017 (11:59 p.m., Pacific Standard Time), to submit their applications.
The objective of this funding program is to increase the ability of local institutions to better preserve Canada’s documentary heritage.
The contributions support the development of Canada’s local library and archival communities, as well as their professional associations, by increasing their capacity to preserve, provide access to, and promote documentary heritage. Contributions also provide opportunities for the institutions to evolve and remain sustainable. Since 2015–2016, LAC has allocated $3 million to support 103 projects across Canada.
LAC’s website provides more information on the DHCP, including eligibility criteria for organizations and initiatives. Applicants with questions may contact LAC at 819-997-0893 or 1-844-757-8035 or by email before submitting an application for funding under the DHCP.
