Winner of an Ottawa Book Award in 2015 for Reclaiming the Commons for the Common Good, Heather Menzies will be the guest speaker at a public talk hosted jointly by Library and Archives Canada (LAC) and the Canada Council for the Arts, two leading cultural institutions.
The author believes that inspiration can be drawn from the concept of community life, a central aspect in the lifestyles of her Scottish ancestors. She will share what she has learned about this practice and will describe how this tradition can still stir people today to pursue the common good, both locally and globally.
This intimate encounter with Heather Menzies will be held on Wednesday, May 25, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Library and Archives Canada, 395 Wellington Street, Ottawa. If you are interested in attending, please register at firstname.lastname@example.org.
