    The acquisition consists of material created and accumulated by Dr. Alexander Gardner Watson as General Manager of the Royal Canadian Air Force (R.C.A.F.) Flyers hockey team which won the gold medal at the 1948 Winter Olympics in St. Moritz, Switzerland. The material documents mostly: the selection and training of the players of the R.C.A.F. Flyers to represent Canada at the 1948 Winter Olympic Games in St. Moritz, Switzerland ; the team¿s participation in the Olympics and in pre-Olympics and post-Olympics exhibition games in 1948; the reception given to the team when they returned to Ottawa in April 1948; and the awards and events commemorating their gold medal win since 1948.
