The records in this accession are from the Office of the Secretary and include such items as Canadian National Railways Company Directors lists for the years 1929-1933, agreements and related legal documents concerning the appointment of Major General Sir Henry Worth Thornton as President and Chairman of Canadian National Railways (1929), the leasing and repair of the President's residences, and two photographs that relate to Thornton's career.
Other records include a copy of a 1905 mortgage and deed of trust for The Grand Trunk Pacific Railway Company, documents pertaining to the sale of the ships in the Canadian National (West Indies) Steamships Limited fleet (1958), annual reports issued by the same Company for the years 1954-1957, Yukon Railway feasibility reconnaissance reports issued by the Engineer of Location & Construction, CNR (1969), a report prepared by The Montreal Terminal Development Co-Ordinating Committee concerning the proposed Montreal office building and hotel structure and two research and development reports on steel car manufacturing and status of the development of The Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Deep Waterway and Power Project as at the end of 1951.
