    Scope and content:
    Series consists of correspondence from prominent figures of the day, including politicians, cabinet ministers, bureaucrats, religious figures and businessmen. The correspondence is arranged alphabeticaly by name of correspondent. There are approximately 100 individuals represented in this series with whom there was considerable correspondence. Among the most voluminous correspondence is that from Gilbert McMicken (secret service reports, 12 vols.); Sir George Stephen (6 vols.); Sir Alexander Campbell (5 vols.); Hon. Edgar Dewdney (5 vols.); Sir Alexander T. Galt (5 vols.); Lawrence Vankoughnet (5 vols.); Sir David Macpherson (4 vols.); Sir Charles Tupper (4 vols.). The microfilm indexes and the Prime Minister's CD-Rom provide item level information for the letters in this series.
