Library and Archives Canada, the Ottawa International Writers Festival and Ottawa Public Library invite you to a conversation with Cherie Dimaline on adapting a literary work from the page to the screen.

Two years ago, few could have predicted what a massive global phenomenon Cherie Dimaline’s The Marrow Thieves would become. It won the Governor General’s Literary Award and the Kirkus Prize, was shortlisted for Canada Reads, and remains a national bestseller. Now it has been scooped up for a multi-season television adaptation.

Cherie Dimaline has navigated the international acclaim, awards and accolades. She now faces a daunting—and exciting—task as the showrunner for the Netflix series based on her work.
