We invite you to see three original treaties at Library and Archives Canada, 395 Wellington Street, during Treaties Recognition Week from November 6 to 10.
The Selkirk Treaty is on display as part of the "Canada: Who Do We Think We Are? " exhibition in the Morley Callaghan room until March 1, 2018.
Also on display are the Robinson-Huron and Robinson-Superior treaties, which were signed in 1850 and cover portions of northern Ontario. These two documents will be on display from November 6 to December 8, 2017.
In 2016, the Government of Ontario designated the first week of November as Treaties Recognition Week, to recognize the importance of treaties and increase awareness of treaty relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities in the province.
