    General Note:
    Robert Hood created this watercolour in March of 1820 at Cumberland House.
    Cumberland House (Sask.) located on Pine Island in the Saskatchewan River is the first western inland post built by the Hudson's Bay Company (HBC). The post, established in 1774, was on the route from Hudson Bay to the Saskatchewan and Churchill rivers fur trading areas.
