    Fonds consists of correspondence, programmes, promotional material and clippings relating to Canadian Theatre, especially in Montreal, 1948-1973 and a prompt book the Merchant of Venice by Miss Kate Horne used in an 1851 production at the Broadway Theatre, New York which was given to Miss Starke by Allan Murray of the "Dumbells". Fonds also consists of photographs of the Dominion Drama Festival, Brockville, Ont., 1965; and a painting of costume design for "Boiteux" given to Sarah Starke by artist Renee Noiseux for the play "Le Pendu", [196?].

    Starke, Sarah G.E., d. 1973: Sarah G.E. Starke, known as Sally, was involved in amateur and professional theatre including active participation in Theatre Canada (Dominion Drama Festival) and support of various theatrical activities. For twenty-five years, Miss Starke worked at Eatons, Montreal.
