    Description:
This television documentary on Irving Layton includes interview segments and footage of the Canadian poet in Montreal (Quebec) and in Greece. In Montreal, Layton is shown at work in his home, during a poetry reading and autographing copies of his books with his wife, Anna Pottier, accompanying him. In Greece, Layton lectures at the University of Athens; attends a celebration of the translation of some of his work; dances in a café; composes poetry at the site of the Acropolis, and discusses his craft with writer Dinos Siotis and translator-poet Katerina Anghelaki-Rooke. Layton comments on the process of writing; his visual approach to poetry; the power of language, and the changing role of the poet in today's society. <60mn>
