    Caroline Bucknall Estcourt, daughter of Right Honorable Reginald Pole Carew of Antony, Devon, and the Hon. Caroline Lyttleton. Amateur painter. Married Sir James Bucknall Bucknall Estcourt 1837. Accompanied her husband on his overseas postings and in Canada 1838-9 and 1843-6 where executed Canadian views including Quebec winter scenes. Some sketches were subsequently lithographed. He died in the Crimea in 1855, and she was made a Knight's Widow in 1856. She died at The Priory, Tetbury, Gloucestershire, England, 17 November 1886.

    Born on May 19, 1809, in Middlesex, England, Caroline Pole Carew married James Bucknall Bucknall Estcourt on August 15, 1837. This album was a gift from Lucy Sarah (Sotheron) Bucknall Estcourt, the wife of James's older brother, Thomas Henry Sutton Estcourt.
