Laboratory Centre for Disease Control (Canada) : The Laboratory Centre for Disease Control (LCDC), formerly known as the Laboratory of Hygiene, was created in 1970. The LCDC leads and coordinates the identification, investigation, control and prevention of human disease in Canada. The Centre carries out its role by monitoring the occurrence of disease, assessing risks, providing disease control services, and providing a national epidemiological and laboratory surveillance of HIV/AIDS.
