    Scope and content:
Sub-series consists of 32,353 pages of proceedings and testimony in 204 volumes (1-204) that were part of the public record of the formal hearings held by the Mackenzie Valley Pipeline Inquiry. Formal hearings began on 11 March 1975 with the witnesses called by each participant presenting evidence that was subject to cross-examination. These transcripts were used by Thomas Berger to prepare his two-volume report entitled "Northern Frontier Northern Homeland" which appeared during 1977. (RG126, Vols. 49-67)
    Finding aid:
(Paper) Finding aid 126-1 is a typed and handwritten file list for volumes 1-77. For the transcriptions, information given on the finding aid file list includes the RG126 volume number, transcription number, transcription part, location of hearing, and date of hearing. 126-1 (99 99: Closed pending processing)

(Paper) Finding aid 126-2 is a typed index list referring to the first eight transcripts (nos. 1-8, RG126, Vol. 49) which were the Preliminary Hearings held in Yellowknife, Inuvik, Whitehorse and Ottawa 22-25 April, 6-8 May, and 12-13 September 1974. These are indexed by subject, prefixed by a daily log of the hearings and a keyword index. To order any transcript volume, convert the transcript volume number by means of finding aid 126-1 into an RG126 volume number before ordering the material. 126-2 (99 99: Closed pending processing)

(Paper) Finding aid 126-3 is a typed index list for the transcripts in volumes 49-72. The MVPI prepared this Index to the transcripts, a keyword subject index on a page-by-page basis of the 281 volumes of Formal and Community Hearing transcripts. In addition to the entries, the Index lists all the Community and Formal Hearings, and contains alphabetical lists of all witnesses, and subject cross-references. To order any transcript volume, convert the transcript volume number by means of finding aid 126-1 into an RG126 volume number before ordering the material. 126-3 (99 99: Closed pending processing)
