On Tuesday, July 5, 2011, a major power failure affecting Library and Archives Canada (LAC)'s computer servers made it impossible to provide most departmental services, including its website. This situation affected all of LAC's facilities, including those in Gatineau, Ottawa and the Regional Service Centres across Canada.
All services are expected to be back to normal for the start of the business day on Wednesday, July 6.
The management of LAC deeply regrets any inconvenience caused by this situation and expresses its thanks to clients for their understanding.
