Great news! We are pleased to announce that the Documentary Heritage Communities Program (DHCP), which is dedicated to provides funding support to Canada’s local archival and library communities, is now extended beyond 2019. Eligible organizations will continue to share $ 1.5 million annually.

Dr. Guy Berthiaume, the Librarian and Archivist of Canada, shared the news this morning in Ottawa, during the first-ever seminar dedicated to this funding program.

Launched in June 2015, the DHCP originally aimed to provide recipients with $7.5 million over five years. This goal will be achieved in spring 2019, when the winning projects of the 2019-2020 funding cycle are announced. Please note that applicants for the 2019-2020 funding cycle have until January 8, 2019 to submit their project.

Long live the Documentary Heritage Communities Program!
