Ottawa Public Library and LAC: decision expected in spring

Following Ottawa City Council’s decision on February 8, Library and Archives Canada (LAC) will continue working with the Ottawa Public Library (OPL) to create and operate a shared facility together.

A final decision by the Government of Canada on a collaborative agreement is expected in spring 2017. If the project moves forward, the OPL and LAC would build and operate a new landmark facility that will provide their respective users and visitors a wider range of services.

For more information on the shared facility project, see the report to the City of Ottawa’s elected representatives on the Ottawa Public Library website.
