Asbestos: Safe and secure buildings at Library and Archives Canada

Library and Archives Canada (LAC) takes the health and safety of its buildings’ occupants very seriously.

LAC has posted a complete listing on its internet site of the buildings it manages that contain asbestos. The inventory includes the name and address of each building, and indicates whether the building contains asbestos and whether there is an asbestos management plan in place.

LAC also occupies other buildings for which it has no management or administrative responsibilities. Of these, only the building located at 395 Wellington Street in Ottawa contains asbestos. This building is safe and an asbestos management plan is in place. To find out more information about this building, you can consult the National inventory of Asbestos in Public Services and Procurement Canada Buildings.
