Agreement signed with the Service interministériel des Archives de France (SIAF)

On October 18, 2016, Dr. Guy Berthiaume, Librarian and Archivist of Canada, and M. Hervé Lemoine, Director, Service interministériel des Archives de France (SIAF), signed a five-year memorandum of understanding (MOU). This agreement allows both institutions to share expertise and knowledge, and to collaborate on academic advances, research methods and technological developments. The MOU also facilitates the sharing and promotion of the archival heritage of Canada and France.

The signing of the agreement sets the stage for the institutions to participate in joint projects and initiatives supporting the missions and mandates of Library and Archives Canada and the SIAF. Both institutions will share their knowledge and expertise through training programs and workshops, their experiences related to archival collections, and their best practices to support technological development.
