On May 21, 2004, the Library and Archives Canada Act came into force. To mark this special event, Library and Archives Canada (LAC) is releasing its fourth video in a series showing what it means to acquire and preserve Canada’s documentary heritage and make it available to the public. This virtual tour takes you into "a modern temple of memory," as the LAC Preservation Centre was once dubbed, behind the scenes of the futuristic facility made of glass, steel and concrete. If you’ve ever wondered where we store, protect, preserve and maintain Canada’s vast and rich documentary heritage, this video takes you inside the state-of-the-art LAC Preservation Centre.
