Source: Proclamation! whereas, the Honorable Thomas D'Arcy McGee, a member of the House of Commons of the Dominion of Canada, was foully assassinated in this city, on the morning of the seventh day of April, 1868, in accordance with a resolution of the corporation, I, Henry James Friel, mayor of the city of Ottawa, do hereby offer a reward of $2,000 for the apprehension and prosecution to conviction of the assassin ...
