Foundations: The Words That Shaped Canada

Exhibit at the Library of Parliament

The 150th anniversary of Confederation is a major milestone in Canadian history. To celebrate the occasion, a selection of Canada’s foundational documents, preserved by Library and Archives Canada, is on display at the Library of Parliament at 111 Wellington Street in Ottawa.

Spanning the years 1867 to 1982, each of the documents represents a key moment in Canadian history. We invite you to visit the Library of Parliament to see the original documents, including the Proclamation of the Constitution Act signed by the Queen of Canada on April 17, 1982.

This special exhibit can be seen as part of a guided tour of Centre Block.
